A $42 million private equity fund
investing in the building blocks of healthy communities
Healthy Neighborhoods Equity Fund II provides low-cost, patient capital that enables the development of mixed-income, mixed-use, transit-oriented real estate developments in walkable urban and suburban neighborhoods.
HNEF II invests in real estate developments that strengthen community and environmental health, promote regional equity and provide risk-adjusted return for investors.
InvestmentHNEF II prioritizes investments that advance a community’s vision for the future and bring lasting, measurable benefits to people’s health, neighborhoods and the environment.
Because zip codes matter for health, Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation and Conservation Law Foundation combined their respective areas of expertise to create an innovative investment fund – HNEF I – to help build healthier communities. Building on the success of HNEF I, which closed in 2019, they launched HNEF II in early 2020. MHIC and CLF are both leading nonprofits in New England. Together, they have more than 40 years of experience working in the New England real estate market.
